The Labour Party has unveiled its manifesto, which includes a pledge to modernise the school curriculum while building on the success of knowledge-rich approaches.

Labour has also committed to protecting the entire education budget in real terms from the early years through to post-16 education and skills.
Cost of Key Policies
The manifesto breaks down the expected cost of some of its main education policies, including hiring 6500 new teachers, which is estimated to cost:
- Planned Start-up Costs: £300 million
- Planned Annual Running Costs: £1.5 billion
Private School Fees Tax
Labour proposes to add 20% VAT to private school fees to pay for 6500 extra teachers in England's state schools.
